Review: “Before I Fall” by Lauren Oliver

 Title: Remembrance

Author: Michelle Madow

Rating: ★★★☆☆

Synopsis: (via: Goodread)

What if you had only one day to live? What would you do? Who would you kiss? And how far would you go to save your own life?

Samantha Kingston has it all: the world’s most crush-worthy boyfriend, three amazing best friends, and first pick of everything at Thomas Jefferson High—from the best table in the cafeteria to the choicest parking spot. Friday, February 12, should be just another day in her charmed life.

Instead, it turns out to be her last.

Then she gets a second chance. Seven chances, in fact. Reliving her last day during one miraculous week, she will untangle the mystery surrounding her death—and discover the true value of everything she is in danger of losing.

My Review:

Okay, so, the synopsis of this book was VERY interesting. But reading it, was kind of boring. I mean, it started off reaalllyy good. But then, after she keeps repeating the day of her death, it kinda made me feel like im reading the SAME thing over and over. BUT things start to change after her fourth or fifth day. Which is funny, because she does some crazy things that make me laugh my butt off. hahah.

Anyways, in the beginning of the book, Sam and her friends were PISSING OFFF! They were those type of girls who would just party party party, make fun and bully other people, and just dont give a damn about anything but themselves. That pissed me off and i didnt really like them that  much. But Sam changed and i loved her in the end.

The author always shows that they are really close friends, but since they ARE, i dont know why they arent honest with eachother. For example, Lindsey can be VERY bossy. And if one of the girls do something she doesnt like, she makes fun of it and even spreads it all over the school. I mean cmoon, if you think horse riding isnt cool, but your friend likes it, deal with it.

Now the boys, Rob was okay. But i sometimes felt he was too much of a show off. And sometimes he can get really naggy too. Since im an artist, i LOVED Kent. I fall in love with any boy who draws. (haha) But really i think its soo cute when he drew Sam that cute cartoon with her rose. ADORABLE.

Okay in the end, it was a good book. True, it would be annoying sometimes, but it made me laugh and was  funny too. Honestly, in the end, im not even sure if she DID die or not. So someone please help me and comment below telling me if she died. Thanks!

Happy Reading ❤

On My Wishlist (1)

On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. This is where you write books you’ve been dreaming of owning but haven’t bought yet.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer – by Michelle Hodkin

This cover is SO SO SO HOT and so is the synopsis. GOD i just want to get my hands on a copy of my own.

Mara Dyer doesn’t think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.

It can.

She believes there must be more to the accident she can’t remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.

There is.

She doesn’t believe that after everything she’s been through, she can fall in love.

She’s wrong.

The Beginning of After – by Jennifer Castle

So this book is sad, and thats what i know about it. and im such a SUCKER for sad books. They are so real, and they are always the ones that i never forget. I want to read this book, and i want to OWN a copy.

Anyone who’s had something truly crappy happen to them will tell you: It’s all about Before and After. What I’m talking about here is the ka-pow, shake-you-to-your-core-and-turn-your-bones-to-plastic kind of crappy.

Sixteen-year-old Laurel’s world changes instantly when her parents and brother are killed in a terrible car accident. Behind the wheel is the father of her bad-boy neighbor, David Kaufman, whose mother is also killed. In the aftermath of the tragedy, Laurel navigates a new reality in which she and her best friend grow apart, boys may or may not be approaching her out of pity, overpowering memories lurk everywhere, and Mr. Kaufman is comatose but still very much alive. Through it all there is David, who swoops in and out of Laurel’s life and to whom she finds herself attracted against her better judgment. She will forever be connected to him by their mutual loss—a connection that will change them both in unexpected ways.

Jennifer Castle’s debut novel is a heart-wrenching, surprisingly witty testament to how drastically life can change in the span of a single moment.

Where She Went – by Gayle Forman

I have read the first book “If I Stay” and i fell in love. It was AMAZING. You tell me there is a 2nd book? HAND IT IN NOW! but unfortunately no one did, therefore it ended up staying on my wishlist.

It’s been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam’s life forever.

Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard’s rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia’s home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future – and each other.

Told from Adam’s point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I StayWhere She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.

Now you tell me, whats on YOUR wishlist eh?

Review: “Remembrance” by Michelle Madow

Title: Remembrance

Author: Michelle Madow

Rating: ★★★★☆

Synopsis: (via: Goodread)

New Hampshire high school junior Lizzie Davenport has been reincarnated from Regency Era, England … but she doesn’t know it yet.

Then Drew Carmichael transfers into Lizzie’s school at the beginning of the year, and she feels a connection to him, almost like she knows him. She can’t stop thinking about him, but whenever she tries talking with him about the mysteries behind her feelings, he makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with her. Reaching him is even more difficult because she has a boyfriend, Jeremy, who has started to become full of himself after being elected co-captain of the varsity soccer team, and her flirtatious best friend Chelsea starts dating Drew soon after his arrival. So why can’t she seem to get him out of her mind?

Even though Lizzie knows she should let go of her fascination with Drew, the pair of them soon find that fighting fate isn’t going to be easy.

My Review:

I have been wanting to read this book for a while, because i have seen it in MANY book blogs. So then, i tweeted Michelle Madow (who is the author of this book) that i couldnt wait to get my hands on it, and she was SO sweet to actually give me the e-book. I swear she is such a cute person!

Okay so back to the book. When i started it, i thought it was a normal chick flick book. I didnt really understand the strong connection between Drew and Lizzie at first, but after reading more about it, i finally understood. Now i really liked Lizzie. She was a strong protagonist who usually dealt with her problems on her own. Now Drew, drew is hot. Well thats how i imagined him. Well Drew striked me as a weird character at first. Like he would talk to Lizzie, then suddenly ignore her. Which pissed me off ALOT. But i love him now! ahahaha!

I loved the conflict between Chelsea/Jeremy and Lizzie. It was a mix of a long and old friendship with love. I truly felt that those three would always love each other. Even though (don’t wanna spoil) something happened between Lizzie and Jeremy. I have a feeling that Jeremy would still continue to be her friend. Even though its not mentioned in the book.

Now what i REALLY envy is the STRONG love and connection between Drew and Lizzie. After i found out that they were reincarnated from their past life, everything fit right into place. I understood why Drew acted that way, and why they had this “strong connection” that even THEY didnt understand. I loved how they loved each other very much. It was very cute and honest.

I totally recommend this book. It was fun, amazing, and definitely a book i didnt put down. I tried to read as much as i can with all the school work i had, therefore i ended up finishing it in 3 days! SO you better go ahead and read it if you still didnt!

Wanna buy her book? TOTALLY worth it! Visit any of the sites below for more info:

The book im choosing is called: Going for The Record – By Julie A. Swanson

Synopsis:

Seventeen-year-old Leah Weiczynkowski, about to begin her senior year of high school, is on the brink of realizing her dream — playing soccer for the under-eighteen national team, her gateway to the World Cup and the Olympics. Everything she’s worked for in her young life has been about this moment. She can’t wait to tell her dad, her biggest fan and her faithful chauffeur to games and practices. Unfortunately, her dad, Pete Weiczynkowski, has news of his own. Going for the Record addresses Leah’s passion for her sport, her love for her father, and her growing recognition of her father’s faith and bravery. Loosely based on the author’s own experience, Going for the Record is a coming-of-age story on a number of levels, as Leah must question everything that’s mattered most to her and how she will define herself in the future.

This book was just.. WOW. I recommend this book for EVERYONE! Its so weird how this book isnt known alot, because really? It was AMAZING! It was very touching. When i got it, i couldn’t put it down. It taught me how to be strong, and have hope, and never give up. I cried alot, and it is one of my FAVORITE books i have read, and i read alot of books. It was a  book, that never left my mind. I have never read any book that was more touching, or beautiful as this. Im speechless about what to say, because to understand my true feelings about it, you HAVE to read it. I loved it, and it always has a place in my heart.
