 Title: Remembrance

Author: Michelle Madow

Rating: ★★★☆☆

Then she gets a second chance. Seven chances, in fact. Reliving her last day during one miraculous week, she will untangle the mystery surrounding her death—and discover the true value of everything she is in danger of losing.

My Review:

Okay, so, the synopsis of this book was VERY interesting. But reading it, was kind of boring. I mean, it started off reaalllyy good. But then, after she keeps repeating the day of her death, it kinda made me feel like im reading the SAME thing over and over. BUT things start to change after her fourth or fifth day. Which is funny, because she does some crazy things that make me laugh my butt off. hahah.

Anyways, in the beginning of the book, Sam and her friends were PISSING OFFF! They were those type of girls who would just party party party, make fun and bully other people, and just dont give a damn about anything but themselves. That pissed me off and i didnt really like them that  much. But Sam changed and i loved her in the end.

The author always shows that they are really close friends, but since they ARE, i dont know why they arent honest with eachother. For example, Lindsey can be VERY bossy. And if one of the girls do something she doesnt like, she makes fun of it and even spreads it all over the school. I mean cmoon, if you think horse riding isnt cool, but your friend likes it, deal with it.

Now the boys, Rob was okay. But i sometimes felt he was too much of a show off. And sometimes he can get really naggy too. Since im an artist, i LOVED Kent. I fall in love with any boy who draws. (haha) But really i think its soo cute when he drew Sam that cute cartoon with her rose. ADORABLE.

Okay in the end, it was a good book. True, it would be annoying sometimes, but it made me laugh and was  funny too. Honestly, in the end, im not even sure if she DID die or not. So someone please help me and comment below telling me if she died. Thanks!

Happy Reading ❤

Review: “Remembrance” by Michelle Madow

Title: Remembrance

Author: Michelle Madow

Rating: ★★★★☆

Synopsis: (via: Goodread)

New Hampshire high school junior Lizzie Davenport has been reincarnated from Regency Era, England … but she doesn’t know it yet.

Then Drew Carmichael transfers into Lizzie’s school at the beginning of the year, and she feels a connection to him, almost like she knows him. She can’t stop thinking about him, but whenever she tries talking with him about the mysteries behind her feelings, he makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with her. Reaching him is even more difficult because she has a boyfriend, Jeremy, who has started to become full of himself after being elected co-captain of the varsity soccer team, and her flirtatious best friend Chelsea starts dating Drew soon after his arrival. So why can’t she seem to get him out of her mind?

Even though Lizzie knows she should let go of her fascination with Drew, the pair of them soon find that fighting fate isn’t going to be easy.

My Review:

I have been wanting to read this book for a while, because i have seen it in MANY book blogs. So then, i tweeted Michelle Madow (who is the author of this book) that i couldnt wait to get my hands on it, and she was SO sweet to actually give me the e-book. I swear she is such a cute person!

Okay so back to the book. When i started it, i thought it was a normal chick flick book. I didnt really understand the strong connection between Drew and Lizzie at first, but after reading more about it, i finally understood. Now i really liked Lizzie. She was a strong protagonist who usually dealt with her problems on her own. Now Drew, drew is hot. Well thats how i imagined him. Well Drew striked me as a weird character at first. Like he would talk to Lizzie, then suddenly ignore her. Which pissed me off ALOT. But i love him now! ahahaha!

I loved the conflict between Chelsea/Jeremy and Lizzie. It was a mix of a long and old friendship with love. I truly felt that those three would always love each other. Even though (don’t wanna spoil) something happened between Lizzie and Jeremy. I have a feeling that Jeremy would still continue to be her friend. Even though its not mentioned in the book.

Now what i REALLY envy is the STRONG love and connection between Drew and Lizzie. After i found out that they were reincarnated from their past life, everything fit right into place. I understood why Drew acted that way, and why they had this “strong connection” that even THEY didnt understand. I loved how they loved each other very much. It was very cute and honest.

I totally recommend this book. It was fun, amazing, and definitely a book i didnt put down. I tried to read as much as i can with all the school work i had, therefore i ended up finishing it in 3 days! SO you better go ahead and read it if you still didnt!

Neglected Books (1.1)

So as part of this month challenge with Juhina, we have chosen four books that we have been neglecting. Each week we decide on one of these books, read it, and then review it together.

The four books chosen are:Back When We Were Easier To Love by Emily Wing Smith

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

10 Things We Did (and Probably Shouldn’t Have) by Sarah Mlynowski

Delirium by Lauren Oliver

if you haven’t noticed we are doing one week contemporary, and the next paranormal.

We were excited about all these four books but for some reason never got the chance to read them (we’ve got tons of others on our TBR list so this challenge will be a monthly challenge).

First book is

Title: Back When You Were Easier To Love

Author: Emily Wing Smith

Genre: Young adult, Contemporary, Romance

Synopsis (via Goodread)

What’s worse than getting dumped? Not even knowing if you’ve been dumped. Joy got no goodbye, and certainly no explanation when Zan – the love of her life and the only good thing about stifling, backward Haven, Utah – unceremoniously and unexpectedly left for college a year early. Joy needs closure almost as much as she needs Zan, so she heads for California, and Zan, riding shotgun beside Zan’s former-best-friend Noah.

Original and insightful, quirky and crushing, Joy’s story is told in surprising and artfully shifting flashbacks between her life then and now. Exquisite craft and wry, relatable humor signal the arrival of Emily Wing Smith as a breakout talent.

Thats how our conversation went:

Juhina: What do you think of the book?

Farah: It wasn’t as good as i expected, i felt like it was lacking the excitment factor…

juhina: in many roadtrip books right? such as Amy and Roger’s Epic detour? which was SUPER CUTE!

Farah: what about you?

Juhina: Honestly I was a bit annoyed at the protagonist at the beginning, because she was overly obsessed with Zan, and i didn’t understand her need to go see him after he ditched her, but what do i know? i’ve never been in love.

Farah: For me what i didn’t like in the beginning was how they converted from past to present but then i got used to and i got the hang of it and started knowing what was in the present and what was in the past

Juhina: right! that also confused me, sometimes i didn’t know whether she was recalling a memory or whether we were in the present tense, i got overly confused too.

Farah: When i first saw zan and how she described him.. it was the first time I didn’t like the female protagonist’s crush

Juhina: You know, he was actually cute when she remembered him, aside from thinking he’s better than everyone else, but i liked his gestures, but when she actually met him, he was a totally different person from what she rememebered and what i know of him so that kinda pissed me off

Farah: True, true

Juhina: but anyways i was rooting for her and Noah so i was happy that there was a chance that she could get over him

Farah: I really liked the ending, it was very realistic

Juhina: yes! after she got over zan, this is when i truely enjoyed the story, and it was cute seeing her with noah, and im happy that the ending was open ended

Farah: yea! because if she got together with Noah this fast, then i can’t help but mark her love for Zan as an immature teen obsession, so i was happy with that.

Juhina: how would rate this book then?

Farah: a three and a half

Juhina: what does that mean?

Farah: umm… it means i enjoyed it as a fast read, but i don’t think i’ll read it again

Juhina: well yea, it was cute and all, but this was an easy read, i would give it a three. But i think this wasn’t for my age target, maybe it would suit tweens better? so kinda unfair for me to judge it like that. But overall it was cute, i liked it!

Farah: i don’t want to make it sound as bad as you guys think. hahaha.. but if you’re bored and dunno what to read, try it out!

Juhina: ok great! so this wraps up the first Neglected Books post =)

Farah: Happy reading!

My Review:

Im just…. speechless. This book, gave me goosebumps all the way. The feelings i had while reading this book, were sadness, happiness, joy, love, it was just EVERYTHING. This book touched me to the bottom of my heart. I honestly never expected it to be this good. It was beautiful. I loved the way it was written, how one chapter were flashbacks, and how the other chapter was in the present. That way, the author allowed us to know the past and present of the characters, which made me connect with them even more.

This book taught me a lot, especially to appreciate every second i live. The reason i loved this book, was because it made me feel, that maybe this is what you might approach some day in your life. To choose a decision, that might be as important as life and death. When that time comes, we have to be strong right? Thats exactly what this book showed me.

While reading this book, i cried alot. It hurt me, like a whole in my heart. But that doesn’t mean i wouldn’t read it again. Like, i dont really care i cried, because i enjoyed it you know?

If you didnt read this book, and if you like books that make you cry and arent all happy happy, you should totally give it a shot and read it. There is also a sequel to it called “Where She Went”. Below is the cover of the sequel!

Happy Reading! ❤

Review: “Never Have I Ever” by Sara Shepard

Title: Never Have I Ever

Author: Sara Shepard

My rating: ★★★★★

Synopsis: My perfect life was a lie.

Now I’d do anything to uncover the truth.

Not long ago, I had everything a girl could wish for: amazing friends, an adorable boyfriend, a loving family. But none of them know that I’m gone—that I’m dead. To solve my murder, my long-lost twin sister, Emma, has taken my place. She sleeps in my room, wears my clothes, and calls my parents Mom and Dad.

And my killer is watching her every move.

I remember little from my life, just flashes and flickers, so all I can do is follow along as Emma tries to solve the mystery of my disappearance. But the deeper she digs, the more suspects she uncovers. It turns out my friends and I played a lot of games—games that ruined people’s lives. Anyone could want revenge . . . anyone could want me—and now Emma—dead.

My Review:

Sara Shepard is known for her Pretty Little Liars books, and which are also a very popular TV show now. So there are probably alot out there who are familiar with her. Now this book, is the 2nd book of “The Lying Game” series. You can see a picture of both of them below.

This story is a mystery, and i LOVE reading stories with a mystery plot. They excite me VERY VERY much, and when there is a mystery unsolved, i have to keep reading on until i figure out the answer. This book was beautifully written, because everything was smooth and clear for me. The characters all had a chance to be concentrated on, and it was very interesting how every character had that “dirty little secret” that has not been exposed yet.

Now my favorite character in this book is the main character “Emma”. How she impostors her sister “Sutton” is very fascinating to me because in my opinion, i think it needs so much COURAGE and WILLPOWER to do what Emma is doing, and thats the kind of character she is. Emma is very strong, and i would never be able to do the thing she has done if i was in her place. Therefore i really like Emma. I actually like all the characters here, especially Mads and Char, because i feel they have a very strong relationship with Emma, or should i say Sutton?

PLUS there is a new abc family TV show called “They Lying Game” based on these books. BUT the story is totally different. I realllyy liked Ethan in the books, but i was disappointed when i saw his face in the TV show, because what i imagined him to be was ENTIRELY different than how he looks in the TV show.

ANYWAYS, if you didnt read this book, put whatever you have with you aside and start reading! You will NOT regret it, and youll be caught up with it from the first chapter!

Happy Reading!
